HTML, CSS, Multitudes, Temporal, and The Phantom Orchestra
Like us, this newsletter contains multitudes.
Heya! The first month of 2025 is almost at an end. What?! It has been a month, for sure, but I am going to refrain from rehashing the many things that are troubling in the world right now and dig into some front-end news and goodies instead.
Building a Profile Page with HTML and CSS
I have been writing a series of posts on my blog aimed primarily at entry-level web developers titled, “Building a Profile Page with HTML and CSS”. It is four parts in and I have to say I am proud of how it is turning out.
I envision that there will be at least two more parts before the series is concluded. These will always be accessible on my website, but I am considering also offering it as a course that will include video walk-throughs and one-on-one support once the source is live. I want to keep it simple though as I can so easily overthink these kinds of projects, get overwhelmed, and end up never seeing it through. 🤷
You can find and read the first four parts at the links below. If you have any feedback, feel free to start a discussion on GitHub.
Part One: Building a Profile Page with HTML and CSS: Planning
Part Two: Building a Profile Page with HTML and CSS: Implementation
Part Three: Building a Profile Page with HTML and CSS: Typography And Getting Responsive
Part Four: Building a Profile Page with HTML and CSS: Refactor, Custom Properties, LinkTree
We Contain Multitudes
From Walt Whitman to Bob Dylan and Sarah Henstra to each of us, the phrase above applies. Some of us contain so many multitudes in fact that we refer to ourselves as multipotentialites 😁 I love that about us humans. This is driven by love, curiosity, and a thirst to stir the emotional pot of our souls and brew up something that makes our hearts smile.
In the programming world, one could be forgiven for thinking that this is not true. But once you start looking around and connecting with people, you find this to be as true in our community as any other. Can in point, Bread on Penguins featured below. You can learn more about her and learn all things Linux and life on their YouTube channel.
All of us should feel free and open enough to share our multitudes.
